She has had eight marriages in her life. How much love and energy is that in her! There is no one woman like her in China... Once saw her on English television. She sounds very smart and charming.

Elizabeth Taylor is one of my favorite actresses! I always find it interesting that though she was married eight times, she only had seven husbands - she married the same guy twice!

Now that you mention it, i guess you are right! Arguably one of the all-time best Chinese actresses, she didn't exactly marry as many times as Elizabeth, but there is something quite in common
between them, that love for themselves, for fame, and for men.
Liu Xiaoqing (刘晓庆) in 1979. Cover girl on 大众电影, the most popular entertainment magazine in China through the years of Cultural Revolution.

Must be from the 80s, when China started to open to the west. Chinese actresses must then find the sides of themselves that they never knew.

Liu has played two of the most powerful women in China's history, Dowager Cixi 慈禧 in 《火烧圆明园》 in early '80s, and the female Emperor Wu Zetian 武则天 in a drama series in late 90s.

It may be hard to believe but she was once cast into prison for tax evasion. That's after she created her own namesake fashion brand, and claimed herself a billionaire lady in her autobiography. All
that came as one shock after another to the ordinary Chinese in late 1980s and early 1990s.
A very special photo. Believed to be taken when she was just released from jail.
But she thrived. Liu Xiaoqing in 2006.
